May Day 2010

Thank you to everyone that joined Jeremy and the Green Party on May Day!
Last Saturday, Jeremy Karpen, and members of the Green Party rallied and marched in solidarity with the Latino and Hispanic community of Illinois. We marched, in the wake of Arizona's SB1070, to end racial profiling and workplace exploitation and to bring attention to the need for a just, humane, and comprehensive immigration reform policy.

In my professional work, I struggle to help undocumented Latino boys and their families. What hope is there to motivate a young man leave a street gang, to stop selling drugs, or even to finish school when he knows that many of the doors in his future are already closed to him? This culture tells him he is illegal. Why shouldn't he embrace that?

Together we can send a strong, unmistakable message--No one is Illegal.
